Chris entered the IT industry in 1990 after completing an NZ Certificate in Business Computing at Christchurch Polytechnic, majoring in programming. While studying, Chris also participated in the running of a scuba diver training facility, worked as a part time computer programmer, renovated a 1920's villa and supported a young family. The next ten years saw Chris working for two multinationals: NEC / Telecom NZ joint venture TSSC Ltd, then Sydney based for EDS Australia. This work took Chris to Canada, Japan and the USA. In 2000 and 2001 Chris headed the IT team at leading New Zealand design company Shift. In 2002 Chris decided to explore a latent passion and set about building one of New Zealand's most respected photography studios, see www.thephoto.co.nz. Today Chris spends his time running theDesign, carrying our commercial photography and developing software for the iPhone & iPad. Chris believes that the primary function of design within business is all too often overlooked: business needs must drive design. Chris:
